David W. Love
David was born in Toronto (1954) but has spent most of his teen and adult years in New Brunswick, graduating from Woodstock High School in 1972. He and his wife, Rita, were married in 1975. David now calls Woodstock, N.B. home.
While David experiments with the digital process, his preference is an analogue workflow, working with black and white film in vintage cameras. David works with a variety of filmstock and develops/scans the film himself.
David finds inspiration in the beauty of the human form, the melancholy of the human condition, and, through expression of sombre landscapes. Influences on his work are fine art photographer Steve Richard, landscape photographer Michael Kenna, and, documentary style photographer Michael Crouser. David received his national accreditation in Portraiture from the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC), as well as several awards and gallery representation.
